Somewhere between the Dallas city lights and the long roads of North Texas, Colt and Rae Rich built something they felt country music had forgotten.
Not polished. Not filtered. Not apologetic.
Raised around hard work, old songs, family tables, and the belief that your word still means something, Colt and Rae started writing together long before anyone ever heard the name Ragged Flag Rich. What began as late-night demos, borrowed gear, and songs recorded after long workdays eventually became a full-fledged independent movement under their own production company—RFR Music.
Their sound is what they call Modern Outlaw Country—a blend of gritty country storytelling, dark Americana atmosphere, arena-sized hooks, and enough edge to make traditional Nashville uncomfortable. Influenced by the spirit of outlaw music but written for today’s world, Ragged Flag Rich leans into themes of freedom, loyalty, marriage, heartbreak, resilience, faith, and standing your ground.
Colt brings the rough-cut soul—weathered vocals, raw honesty, and a style that feels equally at home in a roadside bar or under festival lights. Rae delivers the fire—equal parts beauty and backbone, mixing haunting melodies with lyrics that hit like a challenge and stay like a memory.
